WHO
is this guy anyway?
Who
is Rob Billeaud anyway and why should I care? Good
question. I've been a storyteller all my life,
and to me there is nothing better in the world than to entertain folks
with my unique way of spinning a yarn. I've never
seen myself as an author - or even a writer - writing is simply a medium,
it is a way of communicating that allows me to get my stories out to bigger
audience than would be available around a campfire or at the community
library. It helps that I have a gift for the written
word. I find it easier to project a mental image
through words on a page rather than coming from my mouth. Another distinct
advantage for the reader is that, although I'm not necessarily an ugly
guy, lets just say that I think most people would find curling up with
a good book on a cold night would be preferable to curling up next to
me and have me tell them a story.
I
see writing as a constant challenge. My goal is
to get you to picture in your mind, the scene I see in mine. A successful
storyteller can get you to "see" the story in your head as clearly
as if it were a movie. I hope that I am always
able to meet that challenge.
For
the moment anyway, everything on this site is available free of charge.
At some point, I'll probably charge a nominal fee
for new material simply to cover overhead, but my goal at the moment is
to get my stuff out to the widest audience possible. Hopefully
you'll enjoy what I've made available. |
WHAT'S
New?
This
website for one thing! This page is the culmination
of an effort to get my work out in front of a larger audience. The
content is somewhat limited to what I'm able to get up in the time I have
available to me. The headings are somewhat self-explanatory,
with my written work divided between fiction and non-fiction. The
Interests section contains stuff that I'm interested in besides storytelling.
I love aviation and do woodwork when I'm not writing.
I love music and have on occasion built my own
guitars, something I would like to do more often. I'd like to meet others
who are involved in the art of lutherie as well. My
love of music comes naturally to me as I have had both a grandfather and
an uncle who were part of the big band scene in the 1930's and 40's. My
uncle left me a big box of stuff that he collected over the years, mostly
old photographs and documents related to his life in music that I will
post in the Interests section. Finally, the Links
section contains links to stuff that I think is cool or is something that
I want to promote for my own selfish reasons. Have
a look-see, after all, ain't gonna cost you nuthin' to look.

BREIF
Bio
I'm
an old guy, at least according to my kids, but let's just say I was born
after Kennedy was assassinated and before man walked on the moon, hopefully
that gives you at least a ballpark. I live in the
metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia with my wife and 2 kids. I
do work a regular job in the technology field, at least unless and until
this writing gig begins to pay for itself. By the
way, if anyone is interested in publishing me I'm always willing to listen
to any serious offer. |
